Garry Loeper, CD, MSc.Eng, PMP, P.Eng.
A senior
Professional Engineer (PEng) and Project Management
Professional (PMP) with over 20 years practical and
managerial experience in project, engineering, facility,
quality, and risk management including a position as the
Director of Nuclear Safety Compliance within the Department
of National Defence (DND).
He has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Nuclear
Option) from the Royal Military College (RMC) and Masters of
Science in Engineering (MScEng) from the
University
of
Michigan
(Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Industrial
& Operations Engineering).
Garry teaches Project Management (PM) at
Algonquin
College
and is on the Algonquin College Advisory Committee for the
PM program. The
following summarizes some of his more significant Project
Management (PM) background:
· He
has over 15 years managing large scale multi-disciplinary
projects upwards of the $100M range including environmental,
nuclear/radiation safety, management information systems
(MIS), facilities, reorganization/change management, and
health/safety projects;
·
His
Industrial and Operations Engineering post-graduate studies
at the
University
of
Michigan
included research into PM and Critical Path Methods (CPM);
·
He
has extensive PM training including DND PM System (DPMS)
qualifications and several civilian PM courses including the
Bates PM methodology, PMP preparation, and various PM
software packages; and
·
He
is presently the NOTRA Senior Project Manager where he:
manages the PM Division, the Radiation Safety Division,
oversees the NOTRA corporate PM Office (PMO), and directly
manages all large-scale and high-risk projects.
