Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Safety Program for both the Fleet and Marine & Civil Infrastructure (MCI) Facilities
CCG had contracted NOTRA to develop:
  • A Standard National level documentation for a Fall Protection Program (Note: NOTRA has also conducted an investigation into a Fall Protection incident); and
  • A Standard National level documentation for Tower Grounding.

CCG subsequently contracted NOTRA to develop their comprehensive National Safety Program Manual for both the Fleet and Marine & Civil Infrastructure (MCI) Shore Facilities.  The scope of this project entailed:

  • Review of Legislation, Regulations, Standards, Directives, Codes, Policies, Generally Accepted Industrial Standards and Best Practices, etc.;
  • Review of Treasury Board Secretariat OHS Standards, Directives, Codes, Policies, Minutes, Guidance Documents, etc;
  • Review of Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) OHS guidance and informational documents, etc;
  • Review of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and CCG Headquarters OHS related Information (e.g. documentation, Head quarter’s, policies, directives, & regulations, best practices, standards, etc);
  • Review of CCG Regional OHS Information (e.g. documentation, Head quarter’s, policies, directives, & regulations, best practices, standards, etc);
  • Review and incorporation, as appropriate, of CCG Fleet OHS Program materials and references; and
  • Development Chapters, as well as on additional standards and guidelines and general OHS materials that could be developed in the future, to the benefit of the client.

  • First Aid, CPR and AED;

  • Workplace Safety Signs and Symbols;
  • Diving Operations;
  • Hazardous Occurrence Investigation, Recording and Reporting;
  • Laboratory Operations; and
  • Radiation Protection.
